A Tip to Make Cut Flowers Last Longer

I just learned that by adding vodka and sugar to the water of your floral arrangement you can get the flowers to keep looking fresh for longer.  Who would have thought?  Apparently the vodka kills any yucky bacteria in the water and the sugar the acts as food for the flowers.  Such a useful tip with Valentine's Day just around the corner!
