Saturday night Esposo and I went out to dinner for the first time in 6 months. My parents came and watched chickadee while we snuck out for a late leisurely dinner. It was wonderful, we chatted, drank wine and held hands. I only wish we could do it more often.
Seeing as we don't have family who live close by nor an established babysitter to call on we try to do a date night at home once a week. Put chickadee to bed a little early (or at least try to), get dressed up, make nice dinner (or even better get take-out) and watch a movie, it makes an ordinary evening feel special and gets us some much needed time to focus on our relationship and each other.
